Granite Belt Weekend

It's been so long since I last published anything! Will try not to be so slack again - have been fighting off migraines galore lately.

Last month we spent a gorgeous weekend in the Granite Belt and stayed at an old favourite - Severn-dipity at Ballendean - such generous breakfasts! We spent a day bushwalking at Girraween National Park, and generally lolled about in front of the wood fire heater. We also dropped in for a hot chocolate at Heavenly Chocolate, where I was most entranced with the sculptures in the garden and colourful chook collection.

Really, really enjoyed this one - just go with it!

This is a lovely movie with brilliant cinematography and many priceless moments - and a great movie to watch when you are not up for following complicated plots or reading subtitles.

Here are some more books I have read and enjoyed lately (there have been a few books I wouldn't bother recommending to anyone!). There have been others, most notably "Freedom" by Joseph Franzen, that I have enjoyed and passed on to others.

I had never read Tolstoy before but thought I should make the effort, especially after hearing that Richard Flanagan reads Anna Karenina every couple of years! I was surprised to find I really enjoyed it and wasn't a slog as I had feared! The Agassi autobiography is a great read highly recommended for anyone who follows tennis. Death of River Guide is brilliant...but I had already decided I would love it before I picked it up!
