Cardboard Box Fun

Debby over at Cooking up a Storm in a Teacup inspired me to post this after she posted a little video about a boy who made a cardboard box arcade.

When I was in Melbourne recently I went with darling E and T to an Artplay workshop where architecture students had built amazing cardboard box structures for the kids to play in and around. The kids also made their own creations out of cardboard.

It was a relief for there to be no plastic in sight!

Mrs Siddons Tea Towel Cushion

This morning I made a cushion cover out of a secondhand tea towel I bought from a market. I just love how it sits on our sofa, resplendent in all its colourful glory.

The image on the tea towel is based on a painting by Thomas Gainsborough of Mrs Sarah Siddons, a Welsh actress of the 1700's.

The original painting :-)

Crochet Cushion Cover

It must be the winter of crochet. I actually made the squares of this cushion cover last year but only put it together this year. The square pattern comes from the book "200 Crochet Blocks", a book that has provided me with countless hours of crochet fun!
