5 more books...

Here are some more books I have read and enjoyed lately (there have been a few books I wouldn't bother recommending to anyone!). There have been others, most notably "Freedom" by Joseph Franzen, that I have enjoyed and passed on to others.

I had never read Tolstoy before but thought I should make the effort, especially after hearing that Richard Flanagan reads Anna Karenina every couple of years! I was surprised to find I really enjoyed it and wasn't a slog as I had feared! The Agassi autobiography is a great read highly recommended for anyone who follows tennis. Death of River Guide is brilliant...but I had already decided I would love it before I picked it up!

  1. I haven't read Anna Karenina, but I did surprise myself by enjoying 'War and Peace' a few years ago ... I must give 'Anna' a try soon.

Thanks for the bookish tips! :)

  2. Thanks for sharing these Rel. I have to admit that I haven't read any Australian literature before but just checked a review on Richard Flanagan's 'Death of a river guide' and sounds really interesting, especially as you've enjoyed it too.

Anna Kerenina is on my winter reading list so I'm glad that you recommend it (along with Crime and Punishment...I'm not sure why but Russian literature always seems like winter reading to me..!?
